THANK YOU
For participating in our HALLOWEEN COLORING PROMOTION .
We had 85 children color pictures for us. "Tillie" can always count on
the "Very Important Kids" to have our promotions successful. Even
though we suggested making a $10.00 deposit, some of you deposited more.
Total deposits made were $2,500.00. Good job.
TOYS FOR TOTS
On Friday, December 12, we are going to have someone at the credit union
office collecting new unwrapped toys. Help us fill up their container.
Bring in a toy between December 1 and December 19, 2008. We will give
you a small thank you goodie bag, your name will be entered in a raffle to
win a variety of toys for yourself and your family. We will have
one prize for girls and one prize for boys.
Also, you can help decorate our paper tree. You can put your name on
an ornament and place it on our tree.
CHRISTMAS SHOPPING
Do you spend your own
money on Christmas presents? Do you need more money to spend at
Christmas time? Did you know you can open a Christmas club account and save
all year long for Christmas? When you make a deposit into your regular
savings account, set aside some of that money for next Christmas. This
is one way you can learn to budget your money.
PRESIDENTIAL COINS
Have you been collecting
the new presidential coins? The Martin Van Buren coin will be
available on November 13.
NEWS FOR
"TILLIE'S TRIBUNE?"
Don't forget. "Tillie"
is looking for articles to print about you. Did you have any news that
you want to share with the rest of the children belonging to the credit
union, send the information to "Tillie the Teller." Did you win an
award? Did your sports team win a championship? Did you bowl a
300 game? We are always looking for articles to put in our newsletters.
You
can e-mail the article or mail it or drop it off at the office.
MINIMUM DEPOSIT FOR CERTIFICATE OF DEPOSITS LOWERED
For those of you under
the age of 18, the minimum deposit for a term share account (certificate of
deposit) has been lowered from $500 to $100. Regular term share account rates and
terms apply. Start saving for your
future today. If you bring in new money (money that is not already on
deposit), we will give you a back- pack. While supplies last.
Term share accounts are
a good way to save for a future goal. You may be saving for a
computer, a car,
your college
education. Take advantage of the higher rate if you have money that
you are not going to be
using in the near
future. Term share accounts usually pay a higher dividend rate than
regular shares. You
can tie your money up
for 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, 18 months, 24 months, 36 months, 42
months,
60 months, 72 months or
120 months. Usually, the longer the term, the higher the rate.
As of June 30,
the Annual Percentage
Yield for a 3 month term share is 1.80%. The APY on a 120 month term
share is 4.31%. As always, the choice is yours. When you
purchase a term share, you are guaranteeing the rate
for the term of the
account.
